INFRASTRUCTURE AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

BatangasMonteMaria would become as well an economic infrastructure for the whole region with shrine, school, public hospital, parks, museum, hotels, transport system and seaport.  It would create a center where other human development initiatives would gravitate. For economic development, it requires manpower for employment that is long-term for the site’s maintenance, education and social services programs, health services, pilgrims’ accommodations and eco-tourism.

It would offer a mode of praxis and programs in social development initiatives geared towards poverty alleviation or reduction.

The site exudes an aura and a model of what is man’s total human development and progress compared to disintegrated human advancement which effects marginalization and poverty.

MARINE RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

Inherent to the character of the site is its rich marine resource.  It has been recognized now that the location is at the very center of marine life species in the world.

While Montermaria acknowledges the need for ecological and environmental management, it would naturally invite marine eco-system experts, researchers and students from all over the world to harness and conserve marine life for the world’s sustainable development and the interconnectivity of all life-forms.  The site indeed becomes a significant factor and a strategic location for such human advancement in this regard.  As it offers a place for meditation, it is also becomes a place for transformation.

The shrine and the Marian complex is designed with an outmost consideration of such resource management based on ecological foundations and principles.
