Mary is in herself poor. It is in her lowliness and emptiness she believed that God can to do marvelous things. Her magnificat is an experience of how God looked with favor upon his servant, raised up the lowly, filled the hungry with good things and how the almighty has done great things.
The Statue of Mary Mother of the Poor stands at 101 meters in height (33 stories) like a beacon light on the horizon of the peninsula. It is a proclamation of love and faith, a steadfast companion and guide for the traveler on this earth.
