Mary Mother of the Poor, is herself poor. It is in her lowliness and emptiness she believed that God can to do marvelous things. Her magnificat is an experience of how God looked with favor upon his servant, raised up the lowly, filled the hungry with good things and how the almighty has done great things.

The Statue of Mary Mother of the Poor stands at 101 meters in height( 33 stories ) like a beacon light on the horizon of the peninsula. It is a proclamation of love and faith, a steadfast companion and guide for the traveler on this earth. It presents Mary’s journey as a model of an integrated faith and life-action in proclaiming the greatness of the Lord. This is that same journey of every poor person’s Magnificat. This spirituality is both a means and an end towards man’s total well-being

By its very structure and spirituality, the statue is envisioned to stand to be witnessed by generations for more than a millennium as humanity journeys towards genuine transformation and God’s re-creation.

The statue of the Blessed Virgin serves also as the guiding light for sea travelers. Ships and other marine vessels pass through the so-called "Verde Strait“, a major shipping lane of the country.

The sea around Verde Island is known for its biodiversity of aquatic species. It is said to be part of the "Sulawesi Triangle which stretches from the province of Batangas down to Borneo, Indonesia in the West and Celebes in the South.

The "Sulawesi Triangle" a 300,000 square kilometer area is a rich center of marine biodiversity in the world.

It is believed that only God can put into natural harmony the best of all that creation can offer from mountain side to sea view in a single place called MonteMaria.

Rightfully, the best that man can offer in return to glorify God will be constructed on the same site. If the world can build the greatest and most marvelous structure during this era for commercial and development prestige and interest, then why not the world can build as well what is most beautiful for God in honor of the Blessed Mother.
